Below are some feedback we've received from people accross BC. If you'd like to submit a testimonial about how Bike to Work Week or GoByBike Weeks has affected you, please send it to Terri-Lynn Gifford, Provincial Program Manager, email@example.com.
“I recently had arthroscopic surgery to remove a large portion of torn cartilage from my left knee. I was concerned about taking part in Bike to Work Week 4 weeks after surgery. However, riding to and from work wasn't as bad as I had thought it would be on me. After a bit of soreness the first night, my knee hasn't given me any trouble at all!”
“… 62% [participation rate] since we are an emersion school so kids come from all over. It appears that this biking and walking to school is starting to really catch on as the participation rate seemed incredibly higher than last year. I'm really happy for our students…”
“I have to say this was an exciting week at Pearson with kids riding their bikes—all being a community and having fun together. Thank you so much for the work you guys do…”
“Preliminary results are looking good, here! I think attendance is better than ever! We’ll see what the final numbers look like after Friday but I have a feeling that we’re going to have our best record ever.”
“I just wanted to say thank you for an awesome bike to work week! Last year I couldn’t get enough riders for a team, and this year we had 25! It was really well organized and everyone had a lot of fun. Thanks for all your hard work!”
“I’m fortunate that I can ride to work in such a beautiful and safe city thanks to the continued investment in active transportation corridors and cycling routes. Cycling not only provides health benefits but it lets me experience Kelowna’s neighbourhoods from a different perspective. I bought a bike so I could participate in Bike to Work Week this year and I can tell you that it will get used more than just once a year. I’m glad I made the investment and plan to leave my car at home as often as I can.”
“What I have noticed the last few years is the explosion of bike riders on our streets and pathways. Riding your bike in Kelowna has become a preferred way to get around for many people. As the City connects more off-road pathways I believe this trend will only grow.”
“I want to let you know that the staff who put on this event, in Kelowna, do an amazing job. I look forward to bike to work week every year. The daily celebration stations and the Friday wind up are always a blast.”
"What I like best about Bike to Work Week is the motivation to get daily exercise, the Celebration stations, being part of a great community event, not sitting in the Overlander Bridge repair traffic jam!!"
"Bike to Work Week helps motivate me to get out of my car and onto my bike."
